Iran 'Searing Summer' to attend Beijing International Filmfest

'Searing Summer' by Ebrahim Irajzad is to attend the competition section of the 8th Beijing International Film Festival in China.

'Searing Summer' will compete with works from China, India, Georgia-Estonia, Czech Republic, France, Romania and Austria.  

Irajzad’s debut film raked in a number of nominations in various categories of the 35th edition of Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

According to the festival’s official website, Iranian flick 'The Home' (Ev) by Asghar Yousefinejad will also vie in First Film Competition section.

The Beijing International Film Festival (BjIFF 2018) consists of seven major sections--Tiantan Award selection, Opening Ceremony, Beijing Film Panorama, Theme Forum, Film Market, Film Carnival and Closing & Awards Ceremony.

Since its inception in 2011, BjIFF has been an exchange platform between domestic and foreign films. The event will be held on April 15-22, 2018 in China's capital, Beijing.
